Brook Knoll graduation party time

A mother from Gabe’s class is putting on a monster party at her house for the whole class. I was stunned at the size of the event, but I’m sure Gabe will really enjoy himself. I’ll let Charlotte pick him up.

Monica's graduation pool party

Monica’s arranged her own little soiree with her friends. I’m not quite sure what they’re doing wondering around the house, and I am sure I don’t want to know. Time to hit the pool. Seems there was a bit of an accident, but nothing nurse Charlotte can’t fix. Time for a little beach volleyball, only a few miles from the beach.

Nick and Gabe go fishing

It took a ridiculous amount of time before I finally got the boat back in the water. The engine is running great and it’s a beautiful day. The fish may not be biting, but it’s great to have Nick on board. At least we got a nice shot of a sea otter. Next time it’s Charlotte’s turn to join us. Not sure what to make of this one. Maybe I could use Photoshop and insert Monica onto the deck of the boat. Look what we caught! ...

Gabe says goodbye to Brook Knoll

It’s a big day for Gabe, and for all of us. After 11 years of elementary school across all our children, it’s finally time to say farewell. We’ve loved being a part of this great school, and I know the kids have really enjoyed it as well. Zach is graduating also, and his family is looking so proud. And let’s give Gabe a big hand. One last job before saying goodbye. ...

Monica says goodbye to SVMS

Next up is Monica’s graduation from middle school. The three musketeers are all dressed up and ready to go. Now if only I can make survive the heat while sitting in the Scotts Valley sun. And here’s the class of 2007. The procession begins. Even the pets are dressed for the occasion. Here comes our special girl. Nick is so very proud of his little sister. I’m sure Gabe is too, but he’s hiding from the heat in the safety of the nearby trees. ...

Gabe's skate party and Monica's school awards

Gabe’s class is having and end of year party over at Skypark. Most of the action is over at the skate park, but where is Gabe? Here I come to save the day with Gabe’s skateboard. Charlotte finds him over at the playground entertaining some of his classmates. Now that’s the happy skateboarder I know and love. And the parents look on from a safe vantage point. ...

SVMS graduation practice

Monica will be graduating from middle school shortly, but first everyone needs to practice for the upcoming ceremony. Charlotte and other parents help out with lunch for everyone. I think they will really enjoy the ice cream Charlotte is working on. Everyone is really hungry from what I can see with the long lines. There’s plenty of hanging out and playing around before the rehearsal. The rehearsal is over at the Skypark amphitheater. ...

Accepting the Webby Award for LinkedIn

I’ve been an active user of LinkedIn for a long time. It’s a great tool for professional social networking that I find useful personally, and for my work at Waverley Software. They recently won two awards at the annualWebby Awards and asked their 11 million subscribers to suggest a 5 word acceptance speech for one of the awards. I threw my suggestion into the hat, and unbelievably they selected mine! Now I’m off to NYC to accept the award for them all expenses paid. It’s always great to come visit New York. Dan and Kay from LinkedIn were my excellent hosts. Kay’s logo bling was very cute. ...

Charlotte and Lynn hike Mirror Lake

Today’s hike will be quite a bit easier than yesterday’s hike to the top of Yosemite Falls. The trip out to Mirror Lake is a great walk with nice views of Half Dome. Looks like the local wildlife is active today. The deer is pretty cute, but it’s best to give the bears plenty of room. A great trip has to end sometime. Charlotte heads back to drop Lynn at the airport, and then home to the family that’s been missing her so much. ...
