David and Charlotte in Hong Kong

Charlotte was able to join me on a business trip to Hong Kong. We stayed at the Conrad International hotel. I had to spend everyday locked up with a bunch of computer geeks, while Charlotte toured all over the city. I did manage to get away for one tourist trip to Lantau. There’s a beautiful monastery on the island where we wondered around for quite some time. We then hiked up to the gigantic bronze Buddha that is the highlight of the entire island. Pictures can’t really capture the size of it. Wish we had more pictures. ...

Bootjack

We’re in Bootjack again for another fun summer. Charlotte and Karen pose on the dock for the camera. Karen does some rock picking, and Kim looks like he’s ready to relax. Monica loves hanging out on the dock and swimming so much, she does a little dance for us. Gabe loves going out on the boats. He convinces me to take out the canoe, but he needs to work on his paddling skills. A new treat this summer is an inflatable clear bottom boat. I don’t know that it worked too well, but it was fun while it lasted. ...

fusionOne advertising blitz

The biggest startup I ever did was fusionOne. We never did anything in a small way, and the launch of the revolutionary Internet synchronization service was no exception. We had advertisements running on TV, billboards along Highway 101, big signs in the airports, and even more I probably didn’t even know about. They were pretty funny for the time, so I figure it was worth saving for posterity. Here’s an excerpt from one of the advertising site at the time: ...

Charlotte and Gordon in Isle Royale

Gordon sent us these pictures of their visit to Isle Royale. Gordon makes a fishing trip there once a year, but having Charlotte along for the trip I’m sure was a pleasure. They didn’t catch any fish, but it looks like they nearly caught a moose. Even this far out in the wilderness, nothing can stop Charlotte from catching up on world news once they get back to the lodge. ...

Summer in Bootjack

Time for another summer in Bootjack. We have no shortage of little ones crawling around camp this year. George and his family are here as are Valri’s family. A few of big Charlotte’s art works in progress.

Nick goes to the beach and takes a nap

The beach is only 2 blocks from the house, so it’s a common walk for us. Today we head out with Nick to enjoy a fabulous day in Half Moon Bay. A nice little nap is in order after our trip to the beach.

Nick and Hazel get to know each other

Our dog Hazel is getting used to the idea of a new “pet” in the family. Nick sure is a whole lot cuter and I love those adorable outfits.

Grandma helps out with her new grandson

My mom came to town for a few weeks to help out now that Charlotte and Nick are back home. It’s really been a tough time for Charlotte and having my mom around has been totally invaluable.

Nicholas Scott Multer joins the world

Nick was born at Mills Hospital in San Mateo at 5:02am. He weighed 8 pounds 9 ounces and was 21 inches long. He was born with the same size gigantic head I was sporting. It proved quite an ordeal for Charlotte that resulted in many days at the hospital recovering, followed by many weeks of recovery at home.
