Prom 2010

This last weekend was Prom for my high school. I have to say, I wasn’t sure how I was going to feel about Prom, but I can tell you, I don’t regret going. I had a lot of fun seeing all my friends all dressed up and beautiful. Getting ready for Prom was fun, my friends did my hair and make up and made me look pretty. I loved my dress and my shoes. Most people liked the back of my dress more than the front I think. Watching everyone hobble around in their high heels and smile for what seemed like an eternity for all the photos is something I will remember for a while. I also think I will remember for a while how much my feet hurt from standing in line for forever to get Breathalyzer. ...

Creeper Photo: The Pensive Child

I noticed you while at a park, your were just a baby standing there all alone. You didn’t seem to have any family around, but it really didn’t seem to faze you at all. For such a small child you seemed very mature. You just stood there stoically watching all the other children play, while you stood just on the outside. Truthfully you caught my interest because even though you are just a baby, I saw myself in you. I don’t know why but you fascinated me, a child so independent, pensive, and watchful. I couldn’t help but wonder who you will grow up to be. I wonder if you will lose you watchful nature and your silent seriousness as you grow, or will you forever be that person, always on the outside watching those within the norm. For now all anyone will see is a baby in a sun dress, cute and adorable, but that isn’t what I see. I see who you can be, the potential of who you will be. ...

The Broken Spoke

I am old now and broken travel one to many times the unbeaten trail now it has left me beaten wonder what happened in its forgotten trail standing on a dusty path I thought I knew but never did following you until the end but I lost you along the way I don’t remember how or why you left me standing here broken and betrayed but I am still waiting on this burning dusty day to not feel so broken and not feel so alone maybe I will wait forever just praying you will come home praying for strength to leave it be for all we have may never have been what was meant to be

Night Light

Leave the light on for the person standing next to you. Don’t leave them in the dark even if you don’t need the light anymore. Think of the light in your life. Tell me what it is. I gave away the light. To help some one else. And the gift was squandered and ignored. Don’t waste the light. Give it shape. Give it life. Give it meaning to take away the night. ...

Ocean View

In Depot Bay there were some amazing cliffs that had pockets in them. This allowed waves to spout jets of water over 60 feet high. It was amazing to see this because the wind was really going and blowing us literally off our feet while the waves crashed over the cliffs.

Snow Laden

It is too heavy He says For me to carry this alone I am slowly being buried Don’t leave me here in the cold What can I do She asks But is afraid Carry it with me He says Without looking away Make this one man’s burden Into two Saving me But damning you Do you care enough To give yourself up for me To be buried alive Under the weight Of eternity Will you carry my burden Until there is nothing left Will you save me From my curse And damn all the rest

Wave Runner

Everyone as a kid was a wave runner. Playing tag with the in coming waves. It makes me smile to watch a little kid doing exactly what I used to do. Dancing with water on a sunny day. Sometimes you have to be reminded of what makes you happy in life. I had forgotten how much I missed that and I have to thank this kid for reminding me that you don’t have to be a little kid to be a wave runner.
