Nowhere

Wednesday, September 9th, 2009

This is the beginning of a story I am working on, not sure where it will go if it does go somewhere. I thought it was interesting though and thought I would share this little excerpt. Enjoy

This is the way the heart dies. It dies slowly without a sound. Some people never even notice when it is gone. The person still stands put nothing inside remains.

We have nothing left but misery, an empty hole that gapes yawning in its existence. When the clock stops ticking what will you do? Where will you go?

Nowhere. A place called Nowhere.

This is the land of the dead, where only a body wonders with no heart intact. But how do you save a dying heart? Can you bring it back to life with a wish? Can a final kiss wake it up with a smile and say good morning?

“Welcome to Nowhere” Death says.

“Come join us, we the walking dead. We who live without mind or soul. “

I walked into Nowhere with no intent of leaving. I had abandoned my heart and its misery because I couldn’t take it, I couldn’t handle it anymore. Being human hurt too much. I walked through my life without a second thought as to what I was missing. Just waiting for an end.

Sometimes, life just happens. Even if you don’t want it. My life happened to me as I stood a bystander to a catastrophe.

A woman died today, I did not know her. I never wanted to meet her. I never knew her name, or anything about her. But she saved me. She saved me from myself.

Flan Pac Man

Wednesday, September 9th, 2009

CIMG9831 This was a dessert I had at the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas. I made him look like a Pac Man.

Some how this picture is slighty depressing and at the same time makes me laugh until I cry.

If any of you have ever eaten at the buffet at the Bellagio, you know what I am talk about when I say:

YOU CAN NEVER LOOK AT FOOD THE SAME AGAIN!

I don’t know how or why, but this food was the best meal I have ever eaten, and there was every type of food also from sushi, to pasta, to Alaskan crab legs. AMAZING My only regret is that I ate so much food that I didn’t actually eat the fabulous dessert. And they were quite fabulous.

If you haven’t eaten there, you have to. Experience of a life time, I swear by it. Even though we waited in like an hour and a half line. It was so worth it, every second of it.

Just go there, if you are in Vegas, go. Nothing else to say about that.

Golf and Stupidity

Thursday, September 3rd, 2009

So here is another incident after the Ghosts and Stupidity, there will probably be many more like this.

Today during golf practice I was wheeling around my golf bag on one of the old man bag cart pushers. On hole five I was pushing it in front of me when the bottom caught the ground, stopped dead and hit me right in the neck.

Funny? Yes. Painful? Yes. A really stupid moment? Definetely.

Not only did I jab myslef in the throat with the handle, but I made the most ghastly noise when it happened. It was a mixture of a dying cat and what I can only assume to be the llama mating ritual noise.

YES IT WAS THAT BAD.

Worst part, almost everyone heard the noise. Everyone just turned around and was like What the heck was that? I just laughed and laughed. No I am not an idiot, I am just unmindful of my surroundings, namely old man golf bag carriers.

Mount Olympus

IMG_5002

This is a funny photo from Glacier National Park. When my mom and I entered the park we were totally bummed out because we were afraid we weren’t going to be able to see anything due to the fog. I saw this mountain and all I could think of was,

Hey, looky there, it is Mount Olympus. It was in Montana the whole time!

Everything was coated in fog except for the top of this gigantic mountain just poking out of the fog like Mount Olympus.

I thought it was slightly strange though that out of all the places in the world, the Greek Gods chose Montana for their home. Strange indeed. Not that I blame them, Glacier was beautiful. But I think the gods could do a bit better.

Maybe that is why people visit Glacier so often because they are trying to get a glimpse of Zeus, no such luck for me though. Maybe next time.

Swimming in a Glacier River

Monday, August 31st, 2009

IMG_5183 IMG_5205

When I was in Glacier National Park, I decided something. I was going to do something that I never would have even thought about doing. I was going to go swimming in a glacier run off river.

I believe that it is crucial that at some point, at least once in someones life, to do something that seems not only idiotic but insane. This isn’t so crazy to some people but to me it means a lot. I am highly afraid of deep water not to mention the temperature of the river. I thought Lake Superior was cold, boy was I wrong.

Anyway, I decided out of the blue as we were driving through, that I was going to go swimming. So we pulled over, I threw on some shorts, and went down to the river. This water was so clean and beautiful, I was really exicted. Once my toes where in the water, that was another story. It was so cold.

After telling this to one of my friends who aptly replied, Well duh, it was a GLACIER RIVER! I realized that everyone needs to do something to test themselves every once in a while. I go tubing and fall off on purpose in deep water, I jump of piers into deep water, or I just go swimming. All in the name of conquering fear.

My recommendation, try it some time. It is actually a lot of fun.

Black Bear

Saturday, August 29th, 2009

Disclaimer: This picture contains graphic images. BEWARE. Don’t say I didn’t tell you so.

IMG_4980 I love this photo. This was about 100 feet away from a black bear in Glacier National Park. Yes. It is eating a dead horse and that saddens me greatly, but that is the price we pay for good photos

A tow truck was stopped on the side of the road so my mom and I of course wondered, what is he stopped for, and what is he looking at? He was taking pictures of something with his phone. So we drove past slowly and realized it was this bear. We swung around and took a bunch of pictures. A handful of people also stopped to take pictures. Some people got out of their cars. Let me say,

ARE THEY IDIOTS?

There was a bear right there and it was eating. Anyone with half a brain knows you don’t want to bug a bear while it is eating, so the smart thing to do isn’t go out of the safety of your car and take pictures, stay in it. Then Gracie started barking and the bear looked up. That was scary because it looked right at us, so we decided to leave just incase the bear decided it’s appetite was more in for humans and poodles that day.

I apologize to any of you that is upset by this photo, but the bear was just so cool!!!

Ghosts and Stupidity

Friday, August 28th, 2009

All right I just had to post this to show how stupid I really can be…

I thought I was going insane while I was sitting in my room because I thought I kept hearing stuff. At first I assumed it was the ghost that I am positive haunt my room.  Let me just say, yes my room is haunted and it is really scary. I am not saying this because I am a baby who believes in monsters underneath my bed. I seriously have ghosts, my room is so creepy, specially my closet. Ask anyone who has been in my room. Anyway, I digress. Then I thought I was just plain crazy.

So I have been sitting here on and off for about an hour. I just sat back down and heard it again.

Turns out: I was sitting on my ipod.

I had been freaking out about nothing. That is just how dumb I am, figures I would do something like that. I guess the hold wasn’t on and I sat down and it turned on.Weirdest part, I bet you can’t guess what randomly started playing. I actually didn’t even think I had this on my ipod. Guess…. you won’t get it right.

Bill Cosby

Didn’t guess right did you? Weird and kind of creepy. OH well just wanted to share a moment of insanity with the general public. A reminder to the random populace, put the hold on your ipod or suffer the consequences of your butt deciding to listen to Bill Cosby. If only I had been warned.

Shogun Bathroom Key

Saturday, August 22nd, 2009

Yah, a weird title I know, but lets face it, I am a little strange. So I just saw the movie District 9, in it this guy becomes an alien due to some canister thing exploding some sort of black liquid in his face.

Today  I went to Downtown Santa Cruz with my Dad and little brother and we ate at the sushi place called Shogun. Being Santa Cruz you don’t want to use any restrooms while you are down there because…. well figure it out yourself, just let me say it isn’t pretty. So I go to use the Shogun bathroom and they have a key apparently which this lady hands me in a very unfriendly way I might add.

So I have this key and I am looking at it, and being the dork that I am, it reminds me of the canister in District 9. So I decide, hey I am downtown why not be weird. So I start acting out the scene with the canister, and pretending I am basically a freak of nature in the back of a japanese restraunt. I turn around and one of the sushi chefs is just sitting there laughing his ass off at me. So I turn hand him back the bathroom key and sulk back to my table back on a little place called planet Earth I enjoy visting some times.

Sad part, I had a lot of fun, actually more fun than I do in the real world. As I have always said, it is way more fun being  freak than being normal. Normalcy can truly be a disease, so watch out it might crawl up behind you and take a bite out of you.
