Charlotte and friends hike to Wilder Ranch
Today is a big hike day for the girls. They start at Moore Creek and finish over at Wilder Ranch. Summer has definitely arrived and the cows look like they’re enjoying themselves also.

Here’s Charlotte’s last day in Michigan before heading home to the family. The day starts bright and early as there is much to pack in today. Rose’s place is looking great. We’ll be enjoying this view later this summer. Gordon is looking like a happy man back at his home. The woodpeckers have been busy with this tree. A few random shots around camp. The lake is incredibly low this year, and the bald eagles are enjoying the clear blue skies. ...

Charlotte headed back to Bootjack with her dad this week. I’m so jealous she gets to Michigan before the rest of the family. How can a hike as beautiful as this be fair? She doesn’t even seem to mind being the only one that can make sure she’s in some of the pictures. The bare trees make for even better views. Back at camp the lake is looking mighty low. I guess it’s more of that global warming stuff that isn’t really happening. ...

Today is the big day. There are around 70 of us that will be doing 100km in the mountains of Scotts Valley and out to Corralitos. It’s a fantastic day and one of our biggest fundraisers for local schools. Charlotte and her SVEF team have been working their tails off to make sure the ride is a big success. For me, it’s another chance to enjoy a beautiful ride with plenty of friends. ...

Today is the last chance to ride together before the big ride next Saturday. No one shows up, I guess since it’s still a bit wet outside. Looks like a good day to hammer solo. I think I’ll go do next week’s course. Gabe shows off his artistic skills again. SVEF and cycling, a great combination. Same for Charlotte and me. Big family BBQ after the ride. George came down with the family also. I know Monica really enjoys seeing a few girl cousins now and then. ...

Today’s excursion is a trip to Moss Landing to checkout MBARI and their research vessels. They’ve got quite the fleet of ships and robots. Wish I could have gone. I would have enjoyed lunch at Phil’s also. Quite the blustery day, though Valri looks well prepared.

Charlotte and Paula drove the whole course today as the big day is fast approaching. The washout at Highland Way is an amazing sight. They are closer than I plan on getting when I go by on my bike in two weeks. Weather is a little nicer than the last time Charlotte and I drove by this past winter.

Only one more training ride to go before the big event. Rider signups have been the best ever. It’s great to see new riders out there this year also. I sure hope we get this kind of weather in two weeks.

It’s going to be one of those long nights in the TV room for the girls. Mackenzie couldn’t hold out and paid the price. Nothing worse than the old Sweet Tart lip gag. Good thing I’m at the other end of the house. Too bad for Nick.

Charlotte headed down to Monterey with Valri and her dad to enjoy the day. She’s been heading off on different trips with the kids since they have off for Spring Break this week. They spent a little time at the aquarium, and the rest of the day hanging out for lunch and other destinations. I think Gabe took most of these photos. There are a few really great ones. ...
