Roosters

Here is a little known fact about me, I am actually very afraid of roosters. Not chickens.. just roosters. They are beautiful creatures but very nasty. I really enjoy looking at them but I know not to get to close to them because they are very territorial and won’t hesitate in showing you how they feel. There is just something very threatening about the way a rooster looks at you. Especially ones like I was taking pictures of in San Juan Batista. They were everywhere, it felt kind of like a cult of chickens, it was slightly frightening. They were all over the place, even on the mission. All watching me, getting ready to attack. ...

What Do You Reach For?

Reach out and grasp onto the sun. The things that seem so out of reach are actually at your fingertips. But what are you reaching for? What is it that when you look at the sky that you are looking for? Some of you may know, some may not. That goal is attainable though, it may seem so very hard at times but remember you will never know just how close you are until you try.

In the Shadow

I love the lighting of this photo of a palm tree while I was in Hawaii. Sometimes doing things the wrong way turns out really well.

Fragile

The fragility of life Is a very scary thing The thought that All you ever have worked at Is for nothing With just a cut A scratch Your life could be taken away An accident A slip Could send you astray That your life Could all just be Another burning ash In a cigarette try Just a walk Could be your last A fight with family Could bring an end So very fast Just a word softly uttered Could end it all A little slip Could wind up Being a very big fall Showing you that You really are Insignificant and small Just a speck In the eyes of all others In the face of God Every bone, every muscle Every word Every moment Could be taken away Ripped from you With just a thought Your world destroyed Never to return And no one Would ever know That you were gone

I Miss You

Can I even begin to explain to you just how much I miss this? Beautiful sky, lying on the beach just watching clouds roll by in eighty degree weather. Can I even begin?

Creeper Photo: Smile

You guys made me smile. It was so clear you two loved each other and were having so much fun together. You and your son were trying to walk with one shoe shared and having a lot of fun doing it. It just reminds that there is so much good and so much love between people even in the darkest times. Yet again, you still make me smile and for that I thank you both.

Dream

Here is a short story I wrote for fun. Would you live for a single moment? Would you die for it, if it meant the world to you? Alanna’s world was a very small one and she had it all to herself. Except for Lumi, her little dog. Her entire life, all she could remember was snow. Her world was covered with a blanket of snow, relentless and unforgiving. Alanna lived in this world all on her own, no parents or friends to give her company in the heart of a never-ending blizzard. Lumi was the only friend she ever had, she had always been there when the snow froze over her heart. In her heart she knew she would never be free of her home. ...

Wheelchair

This photo makes me really sad every time I look at it. Even in Paradise there are reminders that even though this place feels like heaven, it isn’t. An empty wheelchair sitting in the shade viewing the beautiful young people on the beach bathing in the sun and swimming in the water. It weighs down on my heart. I wonder who sits in that chair. What that person must feels as they sit there and watch this scene with a heavy heart wishing that they could join in. ...
