Backpacking in the Trinity Alps
July 1988
July 1988
Charlotte and I are headed up to the Trinity Alps north
of Mt. Shasta. We hear that the backpacking is great up there, and it's
remote enough to remind us of hiking in Colorado. Mt. Shasta is a great
site on the way up.
The hike is very steep as we climb through Long Canyon.
It's a nice hike and we welcome the rest when we break for camp.
We head up to Deer Creek Pass for the big view of the
trip. If we had more supplies and time, I suppose we could go down the other
side, but it's back the way we came.
