Santa Cruz roadtrip - Glacier and Coeur d'Alene
August 6, 2009
Charlotte and Monica continue their long trek home through Montana. Your eyes aren't fooling you, that derelict wooden building really is slanted that way. And yes that is a giant penguin.
This has to take the cake as the most disgusting wildlife photo I may have ever seen. This bear was gorging itself on dead horse remains along the side of the road. I think I'm going to hurl.
The girls will be spending most of their day in fantastic Glacier National Park. Monica was very happy with her mini-buffalo purchase at the gift shop.
The mini-buffalo is often found nesting in the trees of Montana's great mountains.
There are plenty of great mountains, lakes, streams, and flowers along the route.
The Red Bus is a historic way to get around the park.
More amazing mountains, waterfalls, streams, and flowers.
Can you spot the sheep in this rocky expanse?
Just amazing scenery everywhere you look.
Monica decides to take a dip in the very cold waters of Glacier. Really funny stuff.
A few random sights after leaving the park.
Then it's into Idaho and Coeur d'Alene for the night. The weather was pretty gray, so not many good photos. This is definitely one of the places (and Glacier) that I want to check out personally.
