Isle Royale with Charlotte

Yesterday was such a hard
day on our feet, we'll be doing a full day of boating and island hopping today instead.
There are loads of small hikes around the small islands surrounding Isle Royale, and each
one has it's own surprises.
We pull into Edisen Fishery for one of the highlights of the day.
It's a beautiful walk over to Rock Harbor Lighthouse after getting a glimpse into the life
of true fisherman of old in the Scandanavian style.
We continue on the trail to visit with Rolf and Candy Peterson to
talk about the wolves and moose of Isle Royale.
It was such a treat to be able to talk at length with such outstanding scientists that
have spent so much of their lives devoted to understanding and sharing their knowledge
about wildlife. The huge pile of moose bones were pretty cool too.
Time to explore a few more islands.
Followed by the last treat of the day, exploring a bog on Raspberry Island.
At first I didn't notice anything special, then I spotted the pitcher plants and sundew.
These plants were so awesome!
