- William's first wife, Eliza, died in childbirth and was buried with hr stillborn child at Cedar Lawn Cemetery, Patrson, New Jersey. In 1885, William had the bodies reenterred in the new Laurel Grove Cemetery, Totowa, New Jersey in a large family plot. .
William's marriage certificate listed his father as William H. Davis. William Davis and his second wife were married on the same day they attended the funeral of Owen Davis at Paterson, New Jersey.
