Will of Jacobus Kipp, Esquire, New York, dated November 3, 1726, proved January 13, 1726/7. It being the duty of all persons living to consider their mortal end or frail estate. To which end I, Jacobus Kipp of New York, Esq., do make this my last will and Testament. My executors to have power to sell estate to pay debts. I leave to my son John Kipp, 5 pounds in full for his claim or pretense of being my eldest son. I leave to my wife Catalina all the rest of my estate, real and personal during her life or widowhood, and she is to maintain and bring up my under-aged children. After her death all my estate is to go to my children, John, Jacobus, Catharine, William, Henry, Cornelia, Balthazar and Benjamin. I make my wife and my son John, and my brother Jacob Kipp and Abraham Van Vleeq, and Balthazar de Hart, overseers of my will. Witnessed by Samuel Kipp, Jacobus Kierstede, Henrieus De Meyer.
